Self-Discovery – Redefine Your Identity
Too often, our veterans take off their uniform for the final time and struggle to define themselves outside of their military service. It is vital for service members to fully embrace military culture and redefine themselves as Airmen, Marines, Sailors, Soldiers, etc. However, this character shift inherently creates an identity crisis after the transition. This is a crisis that many of our veterans are unprepared to overcome.
Heroes’ Collective is a safe, welcoming space for veterans to reflect on their service, their trauma, and themselves through art. This art therapy program fosters self-discovery, builds resilience, and helps veterans redefine their identity. Through various mediums like music, painting, drawing, sculpture, and digital art, veterans can communicate and heal in ways that words often cannot express.
