Your New Tribe – Re-establish a Community

For many veterans, finding stable housing is a significant hurdle in their transition process. This is even more difficult for individuals struggling with substance use disorders (SUDs) or who were formerly incarcerated.

Many landlords and housing providers have policies that automatically deny applicants with a criminal record, regardless of the nature or age of the offense. These requirements disproportionately affect veterans who may have been incarcerated for offenses related to mental health or substance abuse struggles stemming from their service.

Even when housing assistance is available, the stigma associated with both SUDs and a criminal history makes it difficult to secure a lease. Heroes’ Quarters helps veterans overcome these obstacles by providing temporary housing, along with a community of people who understand their struggles.

Heroes’ Quarters Offers Veterans:

  • Private access to their unit
  • A full bathroom within the unit (including a sink, toilet, and shower)
  • A kitchenette (including a refrigerator, freezer, sink, and stove)
  • Basic home furnishings  (including a bed, a couch, and tables)
  • A communal laundry room
  • A community dining room
  • Community common areas on each floor

*Heroes (Re)Made and Heroes’ Quarters fulfill and comply with all of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Transitional Housing requirements for veterans. (NAICS: 624229)
